Dear Pirate parents and caregivers,
Perry County School District is hosting an on-campus summer session in July. Enrollment is open until 3 pm Tuesday, June 30 at https://forms.gle/VoQXqTj4XxHEwDJv8. This is an abbreviated time frame, and enrollment will be limited to 100 students or fewer per school level (K-2, 3-4, 5-8, 9-12). It is open to students from any school in Perry County.
Summer session will operate from 8 am to 3 pm Monday-Friday, July 13-24. Enrichment programs are open for students who just finished Grades K-8. Remedial programs are open for students in Grades 6-12, with morning and afternoon sessions. Administrators will contact those students directly.
There is no fee this year, as we will not take off-campus trips. All students will receive a free breakfast and lunch. Drop-off and serving for breakfast begin at 7:25 am.
After enrollment ends, you will receive a confirmation email and additional information about the summer session, including the pandemic-mitigation procedures that all students and staff will follow.
At this time, those procedures will be the same as those implemented at Adventure Club, as recommended by the CDC and required by our insurance provider. Those include but not limited to:
Our facilities will be marked and modified to ensure physical distancing.
Students and staff will be screened and have a temperature check upon arrival. Any staff member or student who has a fever of 100.4º F or higher or who has a history of exposure will be sent home without entering the building.
Students will not wear masks all day, but face masks will be required in the event that physical distancing cannot be maintained (for instance, if students are sharing a microscope during lab). Parents will provide a face mask for their child.
Students will be assigned to a group of 20 or fewer students and participate in all activities with that group (classroom time, lunch and recess)
Our staff will complete specialized training to ensure that our facilities and processes are as safe as possible during the pandemic. This training includes proper use of face-coverings, safe and effective use of sanitizing chemicals and equipment, coronavirus awareness, and managing stress and anxiety.
We’ll wash our hands well and frequently. Hand sanitizing stations will be in place.
At all times, we will follow the latest health guidance and insurance requirements, so procedures may change.
It is our commitment to provide a fun and educationally exceptional program for our students while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to keep everyone safe.
We can’t wait to have students back in our classrooms. Please don’t wait to enroll in the D32 summer sessions, as we anticipate the spots filling quickly.
With Pirate Pride,
