Accelerated Reader-Access only from campus

Accelerated Reader Certification Levels and Criteria

Point Club

5 points-Student sits in alternative seating during one library class.

10 points- Student receives a bookmark from the librarian.

15 points- Student receives post-it notes/page markers from the librarian

25 points- Student receives a free book from the librarian.

35 points- Student earns a PES green hat and a button for the hat.

50 points- Student earns a button for the green hat.

This will continue in increments of 25. Green hats may be worn on Fridays.

Additional Medals/Trophies

Heart Reading Club-Student reads 30 heart books with 80% or better. These books include Henry and Mudge, Iris and Walter, Mr. Putter & Tabby, and Poppleton.

Reward: Student receives a medal and is recognized on the morning broadcast.

Mark Twain Reading Club- Student reads and passes tests on any 10 Mark Twain Nominees from any year. These books are marked with a sticker on the spine.

Reward: Student receives a medal and is recognized on the morning broadcast.

Nonfiction Reading Club-Student reads and passes the test on 150 nonfiction books.

Reward: Student receives a trophy and is recognized on the morning broadcast.

Mystery Honors Reader- Student reads 6 books from the Classic Reader List and accumulates 250 points. Reward: Student goes on a mystery field trip with the principals after the last day of school.

500 Point Club- Student earns 500 or more AR points in a school year.

Reward: Student receives a trophy and is recognized on the morning broadcast.

Heart Readers

Any student reading 30 "Heart books" is eligible for a "Heart Medal". The student must score 80% or higher on their AR test for each book. The student must be able to read these book independently to receive the medal. The medals will be presented on the broadcast.

Nonfiction Medal

  • Any student reading, taking a test, and passing 150 non-fiction books will receive a medal and a special surprise.

Mark Twain Student Award

Any student that reads 10 Mark Twain Nominee books from any year and passes the Accelerated Reading test will receive a medal. They will be recognized on the broadcast.
