The Green Carpet is an annual tradition wherein District 32 staff and members of the Perryville High School Marching Band greet new teachers on campus for the first day of New Teacher Workshops. New D32 teachers spend three days in orientation workshops that include meeting and collaborating with their campus mentors and buddy teachers, introductions to board members and District administrators, onboarding processes with Central Office staff, tours of campus facilities, and instruction in district technology tools and best practices. The new teachers also complete training sessions in proactive classroom management, curriculum and teacher evaluations, communications protocols, district policies, professionalism, safety and security, student confidentiality, and special services.
