Parking lot lines

The construction of temporary classrooms on campus will provide our High School students and staff a much-needed space where they can learn and work together for the 2025-26 school year. While these additions are a positive for District 32 as a whole, they have impacted the number of parking spaces available on campus.

To alleviate these concerns, the District 32 Board of Education approved the construction of a new gravel lot between the Primary Center and the Career Center.

District 32 advises all students and staff to seek on-campus parking as a first option whenever possible and only to park on nearby city streets as a last resort. This is the most secure option for the safety of our students and their vehicles.

Student Parking Options

  • New gravel lot between Primary and Career Center

  • Lower lot between Middle School and High School

  • Street parking (only if on-campus parking is full)

Gravel Lot Parking

  • Students will access the gravel lot through the Career Center parking lot via Highway B and National Guard Drive. Follow the yellow line on this diagram

  • Students parking on the gravel lot can take a bus between the Primary/Elementary bus zone to the Middle/High School bus zone in the morning starting at 7:25 a.m. while buses are unloading.

  • Students walking to and from the gravel lot should follow the sidewalk along Career Center Drive and across the path next to the football field during bus loading/unloading. Follow the red dotted line on this diagram.

  • Please do not walk across the bus lot during pickup/dropoff.

  • Please do not walk across the football field.

Restricted parking on Campus

  • There will be no available parking on the Bus Lot during the school day.

  • There will be limited staff-only parking on a small lot on the south side of the PHS Learning Expo.

  • The front parking lots at the Middle School, Primary Center, and Elementary are intended for staff only.

  • Parking at the Career Center is intended for Career Center students and staff only.

General/Street Parking Guidance

  • Consider alternative transportation such as carpooling, riding the bus, or a family pickup/dropoff if you can.

  • Arrive early and give yourself extra time to find parking and walk to class.

  • Dress for the weather, including cold and rain in case you have to park further away.

  • If you have to park off campus, follow signage on city streets denoting no parking zones and avoid blocking any fire hydrants, driveways, or alleyways. Please be aware you may be ticketed if you are in violation of these protocols.

  • Use sidewalks and crosswalks and avoid walking in roads or in private yards.

Visitor Parking

Marked temporary guest and handicap-accessible parking is available for most buildings on campus. The marked visitor parking spaces in front of PHS and Old Senior High will still be available for short-term visitor use.

Event Parking

Visitors will be able to park in any available parking on campus during evening and weekend events on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should follow signage for spaces that are marked for handicap or emergency personnel use.
