FFA Fall Harvest

Perryville FFA
Event: Fall Harvest
Date: October 7, 2022
Written by: Destiny Mudge, Perryville FFA Reporter

The tractors start up and everyone gets in their places full of energy and excitement waiting for
the first group of children to come. As they get closer, the members can hear the sounds of
giggling and cheering as the children are approaching. Every year the Perryville FFA Chapter hosts Fall Harvest. Students come to learn about different animal breeds, agricultural equipment, and floriculture located at the Career Center.

Perryville Elementary’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders attend the event. The elementary students are able to interact with the different agricultural stations, watch a presentation given by the FFA members, and ask questions.

Members in our FFA chapter have the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and speak
in front of the younger grades. FFA members engage the elementary students in all the different agricultural topics. Whether it’s learning about livestock, machinery, or the greenhouse. They ask amazing questions and even have the opportunity to pet the animals. The members of FFA are enthusiastic to be able to help advocate agriculture in their local community and are looking forward to doing it again next year.
