Shannon Behrle is the District 32 Occupational Therapist. Her nominator said, "Shannon exemplifies what it means to be a true Pirate. She consistently goes above and beyond in her role as an Occupational Therapist, providing an incredibly helpful and steady presence for both students and staff every single day. Above all, it is her extraordinarily big heart and unwavering commitment to advocating for our kids that set her apart. Shannon’s tireless support and genuine care make a lasting impact on our school, and we are remarkably fortunate to have her on our team."
Michelle House is the Librarian at Perryville Primary Center. Her nominator said, "Mrs. House is the example of a true educator. She is dedicated to helping students learn to love books and reading. Mrs. House organizes two book fairs every school year that staffing students absolutely love. On any given day, if you drop into her classroom, the students are engaged in fun learning activities. Mrs. House is always willing to lend a helping hand to any staff member at the drop of a hat."

📢 Safety Update Regarding Bus 13
This afternoon during drop-off, Bus 13 was involved in a minor accident with another vehicle. There were 19 students on board at the time.
We are very thankful to share that there were no injuries to anyone involved. Out of an abundance of caution, local EMS responded to the scene to perform precautionary evaluations to ensure everyone was safe.
Parents of all students on board were notified immediately following the incident. After EMS cleared the students, some parents arrived at the scene to pick up their children directly, while all remaining students are being transported home on another bus.
We want to recognize our bus driver, who did an admirable job keeping our students calm and safe throughout a scary situation. We are also deeply grateful to the first responders who arrived quickly on scene, as well as our administration and transportation staff who worked swiftly to call families and facilitate the transition.

In celebration of National School Lunch Week, we visited each of District 32's cafeterias.
The Food Services team planned this week's menu based on a survey of students' top choices, and staff decorated and dressed up to suit the "Lunch Circus" theme. 🎪

💵 Base Rate: $100 per day

This week was the Perryville Area Career & Technology Center's Pathways and possibilities week.
Tuesday and Thursday, 8th graders from Perry County Middle School as well as Immanuel Lutheran, Altenburg, Ste. Genevieve, St. Vincent, Valle Catholic, and Meadow Heights had the opportunity to learn more about each of the Career Center's programs through hands-on activities led by PACTC students and instructors.
Wednesday and Friday, PACTC students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, trade schools, employers, and the military to learn more about different pathways they can pursue after they graduate.

He shows up and is always very courteous and professional. He goes above and beyond and wants to make sure the job is done correctly. He has been a true asset to the district."
Liz Meyr is the head coach of Lady Pirates Volleyball and is also an involved with the Perryville High School Alumni Association and Parent Anchor Initiative . Her nominator said, "She bleeds green and white. She not only dedicates her life to volleyball but went above and beyond to help get Prop KIDS passed. She also plays a big role in the parent group and is a volunteer on the alumni board. I can’t think of anyone more deserving than her. She does this all while having 3 girls involved in sports."

We extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders, emergency personnel, and military members — both across our nation and right here in Perry County — who serve and protect our community every single day.
