District 32 thanks School Lunch Heroes

Friday, May 5 is School Lunch Heroes Day, when we express our gratitude to our school lunchroom staff. This day, celebrated annually since 2013, was designated by The School Nutrition Association and Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series.  School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff, and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to nearly 30 million of America’s students each school day. At District 32, our “lunch ladies” prepare and serve thousands of healthy and nutritious meals every school day.  They create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the lunchroom, an extension of the love they have for our students. They play an important role in promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring that all children have access to healthy food options, regardless of their family's financial situation. We thank our #SchoolLunchHeroes today and every day for making a real difference in the lives of our students.
