Please see the two upcoming food assistance resources available to families in our community below:
1. Mobile Food Pantry (Next Week)
The Southeast Missouri Food Bank is hosting a free Mobile Food Pantry next week. No registration is required, and food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is specifically targeting District 32 families.
🗓️ Date: Tuesday, May 26
⏰ Time: 4:00 PM
📍 Location: First Baptist Church (416 N. Main St., Perryville, MO)
2. Missouri SuN Bucks Program
Missouri SuN Bucks is a program to help families purchase food for their school-age children during the summer months of June, July and August. Families of students who were determined eligible for free or reduced price lunch during the regular school will receive a one-time $120 benefit per eligible student. The funds will be loaded onto an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card and mailed to the household address. If you receive SNAP or Temporary Assistance, your child’s benefits will be available on that card. These funds can be used to buy nutritious foods at authorized locations.
If your student received free or reduced-price meals during the school year, his/her information has already been submitted to receive the benefit. Families who were not eligible for free or reduced-price meals may still be eligible to receive the SuN Bucks benefit. Families can check if they are eligible and/or fill out an application by going to the Missouri Department of Social Services SuN Bucks website: https://mydss.mo.gov/SuNBucks.
District 32 does not operate this program, so our staff cannot answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions regarding the SuN Bucks Program, please contact the Department of Social Services, Family Support Division, at 855-373-4636.

Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26. We wish all of our Pirate families a safe holiday weekend!

Our May Team Player Tuesday recognitions are Lisa Hacker and Ronda Kramer! 💚🤍🏴☠️
Lisa Hacker is a paraprofessional in the Perryville Primary Center library. Her nominator said: "Lisa worked many after school hours bringing our One School, One Book alive on bulletin boards she creates for the students and staff. She added to these bulletin boards every day as the story progressed. It is such a joy to see students admiring the boards and discussing the details she created the evening before. I love seeing how they are looking for the changes and it encourages them to discuss the story together. Lisa, thank you for the endless hours you put in on your own time to bring these books alive for our students and staff! You are so appreciated!"
Ronda Kramer is a member of the Central Cafeteria staff. Her nominator said, "Rhonda knows the name of every student that comes through her line. She has clear expectations for students, great management of the cafeteria, and runs a tight ship. The thing to be noted about Rhonda most, though, is the love she shows students in just the short couple of seconds she sees them every day. As they put their lunch numbers in, she talks to them, asks them questions, makes them laugh, gives hugs when needed, and above all, makes students feel cared for. Rhonda embodies the vision of D32 - the pursuit of excellence while showing great care and devotion."

Thank you to all of our amazing families for an incredible school year. Let’s finish strong tomorrow morning, and then... bring on summer break! 🏖️🏴☠️

Event Schedule:
🏃♂️ Grades K-5: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM
🏃♀️ Grades 6-12: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Let’s fill the sidelines and show these Pirates exactly what community support looks like!

Due to the threat of severe weather forecast for our area later this evening, Perry County School District 32 is canceling all after-school and evening activities for tonight, Monday, April 27. This includes:
Adventure Club
Little Pirates late pickup (please pick up students at 2:55 p.m. dismissal via parent pickup lanes)
All athletic practices/events
Middle School Choir concerts (rescheduling updates will be communicated later)
We are currently planning for a regular end of day dismissal. We are keeping a close eye on the weather throughout the afternoon due to the potential for some popup events. We will follow our severe weather protocols and shelter students/staff in our FEMA rooms in the event a weather emergency occurs prior to dismissal.
We encourage everyone in the Pirate family to stay weather aware and have a plan in place for this evening.

Debbie Baer is the Food Services Director for District 32. Her nominator said: "Debbie is a worker, period, end of story. It needs to get done and she does it. Her title may be the director but she isn't above helping wherever it is needed. Not to mention the way she manages her crew, whether she is short handed or not, the can-do mentality and positive attitude are visible."
April Thompson is the Administrative Assistant for the District 32 Technology office. Her nominator said, "April was a rock star at the Primary Building. She has gone above all expectations and she is doing the same with moving over to the Technology building to make District 32 schools the best ever! April has absolutely touched many people within the capacity of her job from her bubbly voice on the phone calls to helping out any way needed."

We know what day it is, but we promise this isn't a prank! District 32 will have no school from Thursday, April 2, through Monday, April 6.
We hope all of our students, staff, and families enjoy a restful and wonderful break. We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus Tuesday, April 7!

Last spring a tornado came and wreaked havoc on our campus, but it also highlighted the incredible resilience of this community. We have navigated numerous challenges together over the last year in the face of an unknown future for PHS. A week from today, voters will have a say in what the future looks like when they make a decision on Proposition K.I.D.S.
Prop K.I.D.S (Keep Improving District Schools) will ask voters whether to approve a $0.41 cent tax increase, to generate $52.5 million that would support a project to build a reimagined PHS.
Full information about Prop K.I.D.S. is available on the District 32 website via the link below, including answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Don’t forget, election day is Tuesday, April 7 — we encourage you to make a plan to vote and ensure your voice is heard. In addition to Prop K.I.D.S., voters will also have the opportunity to vote on candidates for the District 32 Board of Education and other local elected positions.
Thank you for your continued support as we plan for the future of our students together.
Message paid for by Perry County School District No. 32, Dr. Fara Jones, Superintendent, 326 College Street, Perryville, MO 63755

As we look back at how far we’ve come, we are also looking forward. On April 7, our community will make a vital decision about the future of Perryville High School when Proposition K.I.D.S. goes before voters.
