Because of ice and drifting on some of our rural roads, we will be running emergency bus routes tomorrow as an added safety precaution. Families can view the emergency routes here: https://aptg.co/nTn5Lv
We are incredibly thankful for the hard work of our maintenance staff, local snow removal crews, and everyone who helped prepare our roads, sidewalks, and buildings to ensure a safe return for students and staff.

Perry County School District 32 schools will have another snow day tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 30. There are ongoing concerns about conditions on some of our rural roads and we are also working to address temperature control issues in some campus buildings.
There will be no school and Little Pirates and Adventure Club are also canceled. Coaches will reach out to advise on any practices for tomorrow, and Saturday’s Mayor’s Cup games are scheduled to proceed as planned. Campus will be open tomorrow for any staff who are scheduled to work snow days.
Our maintenance staff has been working tirelessly to get everything ready to welcome students back, and we are hopeful that the additional time over the weekend will allow us to have all facilities fully prepared to return on Monday.

Perry County School District 32 will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 26, due to unsafe travel conditions. This is a traditional snow day for students. Little Pirates and Adventure Club are also closed. All after school activities are canceled and basketball games will be rescheduled.
Campus will also be closed for staff. It will be a forgiven day for 12-month staff.
We encourage everyone to stay home if possible and avoid any unnecessary travel.

With gastrointestinal illnesses continuing to make rounds, we wanted to share some helpful tips from our nursing staff about preventing the spread of germs after someone in your house has been sick.

We know several school districts to the south of us have canceled classes today. After checking road conditions locally, we can confirm that roads in our area are dry and safe. District 32 schools will be open and operating on a normal schedule today.

Logan Davis, RN, is the nurse at Perryville Primary Center. Her nominator said: "Logan goes above and beyond her nursing skills when it comes to taking the little ones! She has her whole heart in her job with whatever health problems arise to take care of all the children at the Primary building! Ask any child at the Primary building and teachers alike, Logan has a personality that just melts your heart, always taking your best situations seriously and professionally!"
Jim Simpson is a Library Resource at Perryville High School as well as the head coach of PHS softball. His nominator said, "Mr. Simpson wears many hats. He is a librarian, an "uber" driver for injured students, softball coach, he reads tests to students, he covers the front office, and many many more. With these hats, there are never complaints because Mr. Simpson wants to help others when he can. He is one of the friendliest people on staff, always making everyone feel like family. He is such a genuinely good person that if you don't know him, you are missing out."
