District received $200,000 grant for security improvements

A new secure vestibule has been installed at Perryville High School, adding another layer of protection for students and staff. When visiting PHS during the school day, visitors should enter through the right-hand side exterior doors and stop at the office window to receive a visitor’s badge. All visitors to campus will be asked to produce a valid photo ID, which is run through the Raptor Visitor Management System.

This project was funded through the 2024 School Safety Grant. Technology Director Dan Querry applied for the grant and the district was awarded $200,000 to improve security on campus. In addition to the PHS secure vestibule, the grant has also funded additional security cameras, door access controls, speakers and intercoms. A secure vestibule is also being constructed at Perryville Area Career and Technology Center.
