The District 32 Board of Education began a new chapter in April, swearing in four elected board members and one appointee.

Newcomers Dan Querry and Caleb Streiler won their seats in the April election alongside incumbents Nancy Voelker and Terry Wichern. Querry, Streiler, and Voelker will each serve three-year terms while Wichern was elected for a one-year term.

The board also appointed Mark Gremaud to fill an opening following the resignation of Alex Leuders. Gremaud was selected among five candidates the board interviewed during a special session on Wednesday, April 29. Gremaud will serve until the April 2027 election when voters will elect a candidate to complete Lueders’s term, which expires in April 2028.

Meet the New Members

Mark Gremaud

Gremaud previously served on the District 32 Board from 2012 To 2024. He is a longtime Commissioner of the Bois Brule Levee District and the New Bourbon Port Authority as well as serving as a board member for the Midwest Flood Control Association.

“My grandfather instilled in me that education is the path to success in life. Education is not an expense, it's an investment,” Gremaud said. “That’s why I’m here — to help ensure this community continues to invest in our schools. We need a new high school if we want to continue moving Perry County forward.”

Gremaud is a third-generation farmer and lifelong resident of Perry County. He and his wife Patti have three children, Kelsea, Courtney, and Trenton, and three grandchildren, Mason, Aubrey, and Cooper.

Dan Querry

Dan Querry lives in Perry County with his wife and two daughters and works locally as an IT manager. Prior to his current role, Querry spent eight years as the Director of Technology for District 32 where he worked closely with staff and administration on district-wide technology, safety, and infrastructure initiatives.

Querry said his experience both within and outside of education gave him an appreciation for responsible planning, communication, and long-term decision making. 

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board and look forward to listening, learning, and working collaboratively to support the future of our schools and community,” Querry said.

Caleb Streiler

Streiler is a 2012 graduate of Perryville High School and a lifelong member of the Perryville community. He works as a Process Leader at Procter & Gamble in Cape Girardeau.

Streiler lives in Perryville with his wife Megan, the administrative assistant at Perryville Primary Center. The Streilers have two sons, Easton, a 4th grader at Perryville Elementary and Pierce who is a future Pirate.

“As a new member of the Perry County School District 32 Board of Education, I am committed to supporting storm recovery efforts and restoring a strong sense of Pirate pride across our district, celebrating our traditions, strengthening our schools, and building excitement for the future of our students and community,” Streiler said.
